7 try Argentina cruise past Romania
22/10/2003.

Argentina ran in 7 tries as they overwhelmed Romania in Sydney. Full back Juan Hernandez and number 8 Pablo Bouza both crossed for two tries against the Romanians who could only reply with a penalty

The other Argentine tries came from Martin Gaitan, Manuel Contepomi, and Nicolas Fernandez Miranda, with Nicolas' brother Juan Fernandez Miranda kicking four conversions and a penalty, and replacement Gonzalo Quesada adding two more conversions. The Romanian penalty was landed by Ionut Tofan.

The victory means Argentina join Ireland on 10 points at the top of Pool A, but they have played a game more than both the Irish and Australia.
