Sixteen points from centre Leon MacDonald helped  the All Blacks to a decisive victory over South Africa in the first quarter-final.

A brilliant break by outside half Carlos Spencer set up MacDonald for the first New Zealand try, which he converted as well as kicking three penalties.

Further All Black tries came from hooker Keven Mealamu and flying wing Joe Rokocoko, with Aaron Mauger adding a dropped goal.

All South Africa had to show for their efforts were three penalties by Derick Hougaard.
