Relive the greatest matches of the RWC past.
In 1991 the World Cup spread over the Five Nations with the final at Twickenham, England. Sixteen nations took part, excluding South Africa. The All Blacks arrived looking confident but it was Australia who triumphed, with England providing the strongest challenge.
Welsh hopes fell at the first hurdle, beaten by Western Samoa in Cardiff. The tournament newcomers proved it wasn’t luck by reaching the quarter-finals. Despite a good performance against Canada – the All Blacks suffered a semi-final defeat at the hands of the eventual champions – sweet for some.
