Adelaide reportedly has more restaurants per head than any other Australian city, most of which are reasonably priced and cater for a wide spectrum of tastes from Thai to Italian to modern Australian bush tucker.
If you prefer the café culture then head for Rundle Street and North Adelaide, which both offer a wide selection, although it is worth remembering that smoking is banned in all public buildings and most restaurants.
The drinking of alcohol is also banned in public places, but to sample the best nightlife that Adelaide has to offer head for Rundle and Hindley Streets.
Adelaide offers both budget and luxury accommodation with the Hyatt Regency Adelaide an example of the latter. Other, cheaper, alternatives include the Adelaide Central Youth Hostel, Adelaide Granada Motor Inn, Kiwi Lodge and the Ambassadors Hotel.
