Direct flights are available to Brisbane Airport from all bar three – Gosford, Wollongong and Launceston – Rugby World Cup 2003 host cities. Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Townsville take around two hours and Perth just over six.

Sydney and Townsville offer the only direct train services to Brisbane, although you can reach the city by changing at the former, with journey times of 15 and 24 hours respectively.

To drive to Brisbane takes 15 hours from Sydney with Canberra and Townsville only a few hours longer. Adelaide is about a 30-hour drive with Perth the longest journey at just over 60 hours.
