Thoroughbred horse flesh will be on show with some of the best Rugby pedigrees during the Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne during October and November.
Just as the racing fraternity prime themselves during six weeks of fashion, food and horse racing to peak on the first Tuesday in November for the Melbourne Cup, Rugby World Cup fans can enjoy seven matches at Telstra Dome, including two quarter finals, before the focus shifts to Sydney for the semi finals and final.
In addition to the excitement of speeding horses, Rugby fans looking for variety between matches featuring New Zealand, Italy, Wales, Canada, England, Samoa, Ireland and Australia can make the short drive to Phillip Island to watch the Australian round of the World Motorcycle Championships staged from 17 to 19 October.
