History was made in Melbourne on 8 July 2000 when the inaugural Mandela Challenge between Australia and South Africa became the first game of rugby union played indoors at Colonial Stadium.
The 53,371 seat capacity stadium, now known as Telstra Dome, will host two quarter finals and five Rugby World Cup 2003 matches across three Pools, A, C and D, the first New Zealand against Italy on 11 October.
The four other Pool fixtures at Telstra Dome will feature Canada, Wales, England, Samoa, Australia and Ireland bringing Rugby fans to a venue which has had more than five million people pass through its turnstiles since the March 2000 opening.
One of the most technologically advanced stadiums ever built, Telstra Dome, has a retractable roof that moves from east to west and can open or close in just eight minutes.
Home to the Western Bulldogs and Essendon Bombers of the Australian Football League, Telstra Dome is able to adapt to accommodate other sport or entertainment events with its moveable lower tier.
How to get there:
Telstra Dome is located in the Docklands area of Melbourne, to the west of the Central Business District, a three minute walk over the elevated 20 metre-wide pedestrian bridge from Spencer Street Station.
City Circle Trams 11, 23, 86 and 75 and bus routes 220, 216 and 219 service Telstra Dome, while the nearest taxi rank is outside Spencer Street Station.
