Wollongong

Wollongong, like Gosford, is not serviced by direct flights from other Rugby World Cup 2003 host cities, although there are charter flights from both Canberra and Melbourne to the Illawarra Regional Airport.

The journey by train to Wollongong takes one and a half hours on the South Coast Line towards Nowra from Central Station in Sydney. Wollongong can also be reached from Canberra by coach with an evening service taking three hours.

Wollongong is only around an hour’s drive from Sydney along the Princes Highway with Canberra three hours away, via the Hume and Illawarra Highways, and Melbourne around 10 hours.
