AUS 142 versus NAM 0: What they said

25/10/2003

EDDIE JONES (AUS) - coach

"We're going to have some really tight selection decisions between good players and we're going to have unhappy players next week, but what we haven't got is disharmony."

Chris WHITAKER (AUS) - captain

"We started off quite strong. That was the aim and the pleasing thing was that we kept it up the whole game and finished it off well."

Chris Latham (AUS)

"Australians don't usually get a game without a score (against us), so it was really well done."

On scoring the 1000th Rugby World Cup try:

"Wow, do I get a lollypop?"

On Adelaide Oval as a rugby venue:

"Fantastic ground, great to run on, it was a fast track which is certainly what a fullback likes to have, and the crowd was loud, so it was fantastic."

Dave WATERSTON (NAM) - coach

"We just got a thorough rugby lesson today.  It was men against boys.  Clean outs were critical.  They're the quickest clean outs I've seen at the World Cup."

"I thought the All Blacks were the most ruthless in world rugby.  But they (Australia) were ruthless."
"If this was the second string side, there must be some nervous guys in the firsts."

Neil du TOIT (NAM) - Prop

"It was our first time to play against the Wallabies and we've learnt a lot for an amateur side playing against one of the best sides in the world."
