18/11/2003

French coach Bernard Laporte has rung in the changes for his side's third and fourth playoff game against the All Blacks on Thursday night in Sydney.

Laporte has made 13 changes to the side that started their semi final against England last Sunday. The only survivors from the team which was defeated 24-7 are prop Sylvain Marconnet and centre Tony Marsh.

Hooker Yannick Bru is the new captain after the retirement of scrum half Fabien Galthié. The Toulouse player has already captained the side against the USA this Tournament during the pool matches.

Number 8 Imanol Harinordoquy was ruled out of the game with a wrist injury which will keep him out of rugby for the next two months, while speedy wing Christophe Dominici is unable to play with a knee injury.

The team to play New Zealand is:

Poitrenaud, Elhorga, Marsh, Traille, Bory, Merceron, Yachvili, Chabal, Labit, Tabacco, Privat, Auradou-Poux, Bru (c), Marconnet

Replacements: Ibanez, Crenca, Pelous, Magne, Michalak, Liebenberg, Brusque.
