Eddie Jones (AUS) - Coach
On the win:
"We did just enough to win and that's what you need at the end of the day."
On their opponents Ireland:
"They played very well. They had the percentages in possession and we lost lots of lineouts. It was always going to be a tough game when numbers three and four in the world play."
On next week's quarter final:
"This has been a good result and now we've got to improve before Scotland next week."
On the match:
"It was a tough game. It was three versus four so we expected that. Ireland played very well. This match was quite significant for us because over the last 18 months we've lost these kind of games. I thought it was a positive display by us under the circumstances."
On whether he is concerned about weaknesses in the Australian attack:
"We're not concerned about our attack. Our defence won the game for us. We lived off scraps tonight."
On whether this tough encounter was the ideal preparation for next weekend's quarter final:
"We're happy we won the match. Is it the game we wanted? That's the game we needed."
On Brian O'DRISCOLL's try:
"That was a pretty good effort. He's a brilliant footballer."
George GREGAN (AUS) - Captain
On how his side coped with the pressure in the final minutes:
"The guys focused on what they could control; the next play. It's pleasing for our blokes to keep their heads."
On the match:
"We possibly didn't play as well as we wanted to. The way the Irish performed, they put us under a lot of pressure. They had most of the possession and field position. They forced us into errors. We had a good start and didn't work on that."
On what the Australians need to do to prepare for their quarter final against Scotland:
"It is the small things we need to work on and rectify."
Eddie O'Sullivan (IRE) - Coach
On the match:
"We're pretty devastated. We deserved to win. A key decision went against us at the end and we suffered from it. There's no justice in it. We should've pulled it off."
On the first 20 minutes:
"We couldn't score for the first 20 minutes and by then they were ahead."
Keith Wood (IRE) - Captain
On the match:
"We are obviously disappointed but not that disappointed. We have a quarter final and maybe we have the chance to wreak revenge later in the Tournament. We thought we could have had it and we could have, so we are very disappointed."
On playing at Telstra Dome:
"This is the first time in good conditions. Pity we can't play under a closed roof all the time."
