South Africa wing and former Physical Education teacher Stefan Terblanche will line up alongside a former pupil in the Springboks' squad to play Georgia.
Twenty year old flanker Schalk Burger once came under the brief educational eye of Terblanche and the wing remembers the "little guy" making quite an impression, even at a young age.
"I wasn't his teacher for a whole year, but I had to do my practical teaching at his school. I remember him, a little guy running around, picked already (for South Africa) for his age at that stage, yeah I remember that," Terblanche said.
Burger is no longer a little kid running around at school. He captained the South African U21 team to fourth place at the IRB U21 World Cup this year and the 1.93m, 106kg flanker will make his senior debut for South Africa against Georgia on Friday, 24 October.
Youth and experience
As one of only three members of South Africa's RWC 2003 squad to have played in the last Rugby World Cup, Terblanche is seen as one of the squad's senior members, but admits that to look across the training paddock and see a kid he remembers from his teaching days is a little strange.
"It is a bit weird, but I think it's also great for South Africa rugby to see the youngsters coming through. At the age of 20 playing at a World Cup? I mean, that's magnificent and great for him," he said.
